About KACC

The Karen-American Catholic Community (KACC) is an independent, community-led initiative dedicated to bringing Karen Catholics together in faith, fellowship, and service.

Rooted in the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church, KACC seeks to strengthen the spiritual lives of individuals and families, encourage the active participation of young people in the life of the Church, and promote unity among Karen Catholic communities throughout the United States.

We also recognize the importance of preserving our Karen cultural heritage, including our language, traditions, and shared history, while helping future generations grow in their Catholic faith.

Through conferences, prayer, faith formation, charitable outreach, and community activities, KACC provides opportunities for Karen Catholics to build relationships, support one another, and grow together as members of the Church.

Our History

KACC began in 2016 through the efforts of Karen Catholics who shared a desire to bring their communities together in faith, fellowship, and cultural unity.

The first KACC conference was held in St. Paul, Minnesota, bringing together Karen Catholics from different parts of the United States to pray, celebrate their shared heritage, and strengthen their connections with one another.

Fr. Seraphim, fbp, was among those who helped establish this initiative and continues to provide spiritual guidance to the community.

Since its beginnings, KACC has grown through the dedication of lay leaders, families, volunteers, and clergy who share a commitment to strengthening the Catholic faith and preserving Karen cultural heritage.

Today, KACC continues to bring Karen Catholics together through conferences, faith formation, community gatherings, and charitable initiatives, fostering a spirit of unity, service, and solidarity among communities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to strengthen the Catholic faith among Karen people, foster unity among our communities, support families and young people, preserve our cultural heritage, and encourage charitable service to those in need.

Through these efforts, we seek to help present and future generations remain rooted in their Catholic faith while celebrating the rich traditions and identity of the Karen people.
